The coal for the Rampal power plant came from Indonesia.

Local Correspondent ,Khulna: Bagerhat’s Rampal Thermal Power Station, which was closed due to shortage of coal, is being restarted. For this, coal has been brought from Indonesia.

On Sunday (August 13) at 11:15 am, this coal was brought by a ship named ‘Basundhara Impress’ anchored at Harbaria-12 buoy of Mongla port.

31 thousand 700 metric tonnes of coal were brought in this shipment. Ship Bashundhara Express departed for Rampal Thermal Power Plant on July 24 with a total of 49,700 MT of coal from Indonesia.

On August 5, when the ship reached Chittagong port, 18,000 metric tonnes of coal was unloaded and taken to Rampal Power Plant.

The ship carrying the remaining 31 thousand 700 metric tonnes of coal reached Mongla port from Chittagong on Sunday. From there, the process of taking this coal fuel to Rampal Power Plant through small lighters is going on.

On July 13 last, when 31,000 metric tonnes of coal brought to the center from Indonesia ran out, power generation was stopped.
