Mymensingh Correspondent: A teacher at Kazi Nazrul Islam University in Trishal, Mymensingh, has been permanently dismissed following allegations of sexual harassment.
Simultaneously, the department head has been temporarily removed from their position in connection with the same allegations.
The decision was made during an emergency syndicate meeting held at the university on Thursday.
At the conclusion of the syndicate meeting, Registrar Humayun Kabir informed protesting students in front of the administrative building that actions had been taken against the two teachers regarding the allegations of sexual harassment.
Assistant Professor Sazan Sahak, from the Department of Human Resources Management, has been permanently dismissed, while Associate Professor Rezwan Ahmed, the department head’s assistant, has been temporarily relieved of their duties.
University Vice-Chancellor Soumitra Shekhar was present during this time and expressed deep regret, stating, “Such incidents are very unfortunate. Hopefully, such incidents will not occur again in the future.”
