Khairul Alam: Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has returned to Bangladesh after completing a 16-day official tour to the United States and the United Kingdom.
On Wednesday, October 4, at 12:15 PM, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and her entourage disembarked from a commercial flight (Biman Bangladesh Airlines BG-208) at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport.
Previously, on Tuesday night at 9:10 PM (London time; 2:10 AM Bangladesh time), she departed from London’s Heathrow Airport.
In the United Kingdom, Bangladesh High Commissioner to the UK Saida Muna Tasneem bid farewell to the Prime Minister at the airport.
Prior to this, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina arrived in London on September 30 via a British Airways flight from Washington, D.C., USA.
She stayed in London from September 30 to October 3, extending her heartfelt gratitude to the Bangladeshi community. On October 2, she also joined a meeting with a delegation of distinguished individuals, including Roshnara Ali MP, Chair of the All-Party Parliamentary Group on Bangladesh and Minister for Investment and Small Business in the UK.
During her stay in New York, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina participated in various events, including the 78th United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) session and numerous bilateral meetings and high-level dialogues.
In Washington, D.C., she attended a reception organized by the Bangladeshi expatriate community from September 23 to September 29 and also visited the Bangladesh Embassy in Washington, D.C.
This international tour allowed the Prime Minister to engage with a wide range of international and domestic issues, strengthening Bangladesh’s global presence and diplomatic ties.
