Sports Desk: The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) on Sunday announced the squad for the upcoming two-match Test series against Pakistan, scheduled to begin next month.
The first Test will commence on May 8 in Mirpur, followed by the final Test in Sylhet on May 16.
The squad features two fresh faces: regular white-ball opener Tanzid Hasan and newcomer Amit Hasan.
The 23-year-old Amit, a right-handed middle-order batsman, earned his spot after consistent domestic performances, boasting an average of 49 in 82 first-class matches.
The pace department sees a major boost with the return of Taskin Ahmed and Shoriful Islam after a six-month hiatus.
Additionally, off-spinner Nayeem Hasan returns to the red-ball format after nearly a year.
National Selection Panel Chairman Habibul Bashar expressed confidence in the new recruits, stating that Tanzid’s technique and Amit’s disciplined temperament are well-suited for the challenges of Test cricket.
