Dbarta24 Correspondent; Tangail – A devastating head-on collision between a passenger bus and a sand-laden truck has left at least three people dead and 20 others injured in Tangail’s Madhupur upazila.
The fatal accident occurred around 10:00 PM on Thursday in the Raktipara area of the upazila.
According to A.K.M. Fazlul Haque, the Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Madhupur Police Station, a Jamalpur-bound passenger bus collided violently with a truck carrying sand coming from the opposite direction. The impact was so severe that three individuals died on the spot.
Emergency Response and Casualties
Following the accident, local authorities and first responders rushed to the scene to rescue the victims. The injured were immediately transported to the Madhupur Upazila Health Complex for emergency medical treatment.
The identities of the deceased and the injured could not be immediately verified.
Critical Patients Shifted for Advanced Care
Medical officials confirmed that while the majority of the injured are receiving treatment locally, the condition of several passengers remains critical.
“Among the injured, four individuals in critical condition have been transferred to Mymensingh Medical College Hospital for advanced treatment,” stated Dr. Mohammad Saidur Rahman, a physician at the Madhupur Upazila Health Complex.
Police have secured the accident site, and further investigations are underway to determine the exact cause of the collision.
