Two congressmen stress on Bangladesh-US bilateral ties

Political Report: The two US Congressmen left Dhaka after a four-day visit. On this tour, he emphasized Bangladesh-US bilateral relations.

On Tuesday (15 August), the US Embassy in Dhaka said that Congressmen Rich McCormick and Ed Keyes have left Bangladesh. During his visit to Bangladesh, he met Foreign Minister AK Abdul Momen, Members of Parliament, and members of civil society.

The two Congressmen toured a Rohingya refugee camp in Cox’s Bazar. He met representatives of the Commissioner for Refugees, Relief, and Repatriation there.

The visit underscored the United States continued commitment to strengthening the US-Bangladesh bilateral relationship.

During their visit to Dhaka, the two Congressmen paid tribute by laying wreaths at the portrait of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman at the Bangabandhu Memorial Museum at 32 Dhanmandi.

Two members of the US Congress arrived in Bangladesh on August 12 on a four-day visit. One of them is Congressman Ed Case of the ruling Democratic Party and the other is Rich McCormick of the Republican Party.
