US send pre-election monitoring team in October

Khairul alam : US Ambassador to Bangladesh Peter Haas said, “We have told the Election Commission that we want to send the US Pre-Assessment Election Monitoring Team (pre-election monitoring team).

After a meeting with Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Kazi Habibul Awal Mr. Haas also said the team will include experts from the National Democratic Institute and the International Institute. These experts have extensive experience in election monitoring and preparation.

He also said that the United States would like to see free, fair and impartial elections in Bangladesh. So that the people of Bangladesh can elect their representatives.

Earlier at 11:30 pm US Ambassador to Bangladesh Peter Haas sat in a meeting with the Chief Election Commissioner. The meeting ended at 12:40 pm.

In the meeting, Chief Election Commissioner, Election Commissioner Brigadier General (Retd) Mohd. Ahsan Habib, Secretary. Jahangir Alam was present.

On the other hand Deputy Political and Economic Adviser at the US Embassy in Dhaka Arturo Hines is lying with Peter Haas.

The CEC said that the 12th national election could be held in late December this year or early January next year. Several months before the elections, the activism of diplomats is visible.
