Dhaka’s Air Quality Acceptable, Karachi Tops the List of Most Polluted Cities

Khairul Alam: Due to continuous rainfall in Dhaka over the past few days, the air quality in the city has improved and is currently at an acceptable level.

Meanwhile, Karachi, Pakistan, ranks as the most polluted city in terms of air quality.

On Monday, September 25th, at 8:38 AM, data from the Air Quality Index (AQI) revealed that Karachi had a score of 163, indicating unhealthy air quality in the city.

Following Karachi, Delhi, India, holds the second position with a score of 155, signifying poor air quality. Jakarta, Indonesia, comes in third with a score of 141, indicating unhealthy air conditions for sensitive groups.

In the air pollution ranking, the subsequent cities include Baghdad, Iraq, with a score of 139; Hanoi, Vietnam, with a score of 139; Doha, Qatar, with a score of 132; Lahore, Pakistan, with a score of 129; Kuwait City, Kuwait, with a score of 110; Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, with a score of 102; and Kuching, Malaysia, with a score of 100.

Dhaka, the capital of Bangladesh, stands at number 11 in the air quality index. The city has a score of 99, indicating acceptable air quality levels.
