Health Desk – Three more children have died of measles-like symptoms across three divisions in the country during the last 24 hours (from 8:00 AM Sunday to 8:00 AM Monday).
Additionally, 1,125 new patients have been infected with measles or displayed related symptoms, with 160 cases officially confirmed as measles.
The three recent deaths were reported from Rajshahi, Chattogram, and Mymensingh divisions.
According to the latest measles situation report released by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) on Monday, a total of 683 children have lost their lives since March 15 this year.
Among them, 590 died with measles symptoms, while 93 passed away after being officially diagnosed with the disease.
DGHS data reveals that since March 15, a staggering 93,755 children have exhibited measles symptoms, and 11,171 have tested positive for the virus. In total, 104,926 children have been affected by measles or its symptoms during this period.
Furthermore, 77,743 children were admitted to hospitals with measles symptoms, of whom 73,985 have recovered and returned home.
In the last 24 hours alone, 884 children were hospitalized, while 1,136 were discharged.
