Hotline to be Launched to Prevent Extortion During Eid
Special Correspondent; Dhaka– Home Minister Salahuddin Ahmed has announced the use of body-worn cameras by police to prevent extortion and irregularities in cattle markets and animal transportation ahead of Eid-ul-Adha.
After a law and order meeting at the Secretariat on Tuesday, the Minister also declared the setup of a central control room in Dhaka for constant monitoring.
A dedicated hotline number will be launched for reporting extortion. “If any incident of extortion is reported via the hotline, immediate action will be taken,” the Minister stated.
Additionally, fake note detection machines and Ansar members will be deployed at cattle markets to ensure a smooth and safe environment for traders and buyers.
