Four of Same Family Among Seven Killed in Tragic Bus-CNG Crash in Mymensingh

Local Correspondent; Dbarta24 – A devastating head-on collision between a passenger bus and a CNG-driven autorickshaw has claimed the lives of seven people, including four members of a single family and a child, at Akua Bypass in Mymensingh on Friday afternoon.

The tragic accident occurred around 1:30 PM in the Gandropa area along the Akua Bypass Road. According to police and local sources, a Dhaka-bound passenger bus of ‘Rajib Paribahan’ traveling from Jamalpur collided head-on with an oncoming Muktagacha-bound autorickshaw.
 
The impact completely crushed the autorickshaw, killing all seven occupants—including its driver—on the spot.

Asaduzzaman Shakil, Additional Superintendent of Police (Mymensingh Sadar Circle), confirmed that law enforcement has identified four of the seven victims so far. All four belonged to the same family from Dari Hamidpur village under Jamalpur Sadar Upazila.

The identified deceased are:

  • Rashida (70), wife of Maksud Ali
  • Mostafa Khondokar Hossain (50), son of Rashida
  • Morjina (25), daughter-in-law of Rashida
  • Miyan (5), 5-year-old grandson of Rashida
Authorities are actively working to identify the remaining three victims.

Following the collision, police and emergency responders rushed to the scene to recover the bodies.
