Foreign News: Two days after Yevgeny Prigogine’s death, Russian President Vladimir Putin issued new orders to Wagner’s troops. Putin issued a decree in this regard on Friday night. In this order, he told Wagner’s troops that they should sign an oath of allegiance to Russia. By this, basically, Wagner is being brought under the control of the state.
Yevgeny Prigozhin, the head of the Wagner Group, a Russian mercenary army, was killed in a sudden plane crash last Wednesday.
According to the news agency Reuters, the forced signing of Wagner’s troops means that the force is being brought under the strict control of the state.
Putin’s decree, published on the Kremlin’s official website, states that those working for or assisting the military in “special military operations” in Ukraine must sign an oath of allegiance to Russia.
It also states that fighters must show loyalty to Russia, strictly obey the instructions of commanders and their superiors, and conscientiously fulfill their obligations.
Meanwhile, after Prigogine was killed in a plane crash, the blame for his death is directed at Putin. Because Prigozhin rebelled against the Russian Ministry of Defense on June 23. He was angry with the Wagner chief about that rebellion.
On Friday, Kremlin spokesman Dmytro Peskov, the Russian president’s office, claimed that the order to kill Prigozhin was “absolutely false.”
