Rab Bangladesh: Terrorists are mobilizing to destabilize the country

Crime Report: Commander Khandekar Al Moeen, director of the RAB Legal and Media Wing, said old terrorists are regrouping to destabilize the country.

He said this on Wednesday (August 16) in response to a question from journalists at a press conference held at the RAB Media Center in Karwan Bazar.

Tomorrow, 17th August, is the 18th anniversary of the serial bomb blasts across the country. The insurgency has been dormant for the past few years, but in recent times the insurgents are again trying to destabilize the country.

The main function of RAB is to arrest terrorists. A total of nine organizations have been banned in the country so far, including the newly banned militant outfit Ansar Phil Hindal Sharqiya.

In brief, he said JMB carried out serial bomb attacks across the country on August 17, when another terrorist group Harkatul Jihad was also active. Last year, RAB arrested JMB’s self-proclaimed rich Ujjwal Master during a bank robbery.

He also said they received information that JMB or Harkatul Jihad is facing a financial crisis. Apart from this, there was also a crisis of leadership among them.

Those still active in these old organizations joined the new terrorist organization Ansar Fil Hindal Sharqiya, which was recently banned. This organization was funded by Ansar al-Islam.

Many people of leadership level including Amir of this organization have been arrested. This organization is now banned.

The RAB spokesperson said that those who were earlier involved in militancy are mobilizing under a new name to destabilize the country. Apart from this, the work of gathering new members is also active. RAB detectives are working intensively to nab them.
