Dbarta24 Entertainment Desk — A team of wildlife rescuers captured an eight-foot-long non-venomous snake from the garden area of Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan’s iconic Bandra residence, “Mannat,” on Monday evening.
While one reptile was safely retrieved and relocated, a second snake spotted at the location managed to slither away before handlers could secure it.
Security staff at the high-profile compound first noticed the two reptiles coiled together beneath a shed in the garden around 8:00 PM.
Alarmed by the discovery, house personnel immediately notified wildlife rescue experts and local forest department authorities.
Snake rescuer Vicky Dubey promptly alerted Forest Department Round Officer Deepak Dada Gaikwad and the Thane Mumbai Range Office controller before initiating the search.
Rescuers successfully captured one of the snakes, which was identified as a Dhaman (Indian Rat Snake) measuring nearly eight feet in length. Experts confirmed that the species is non-venomous and poses no direct threat to humans.
However, as a crowd of household workers and security personnel gathered during the operation, the second snake slipped away into the compound’s foliage.
The sudden escape triggered a thorough search across various sections of the sprawling property that continued late into the night, though the second reptile remained elusive.
Following standard forest department protocols, the captured eight-foot rat snake was safely transported away from the urban residential area and released into its natural wild habitat.
Wildlife experts noted that snake sightings in coastal city areas frequently rise during the monsoon season due to elevated water levels in natural burrows.
It remains unconfirmed whether Shah Rukh Khan or members of his family were present inside the bungalow when the incident occurred.
The captured eight-foot Indian rat snake was safely released back into its natural habitat by forest officials, while security staff at ‘Mannat’ remain on alert as efforts to trace the second escaped reptile continue.
