Dbarta24 Report — The Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) has issued a weather alert forecasting gusty winds and thunderstorms across ten regions of the country.
In a weather bulletin released early Friday, the meteorological authority advised inland river ports in the designated areas to hoist River Warning Signal No. 1 until the afternoon.
The affected regions include Rajshahi, Jhenaidah/Jessore, Kushtia, Khulna, Barishal, Patuakhali, Noakhali, Cumilla, Chattogram, and Cox’s Bazar.
According to the forecast valid from 5:00 AM to 1:00 PM, temporary rain or thunderous showers accompanied by squally winds speed between 45 km/h and 60 km/h are likely to blow over these areas from the south or south-easterly direction.
Inland water vessels operating across these regions have been advised to navigate with caution due to the anticipated sudden gusts and adverse weather conditions along major river routes.
