Wife strangled to death on suspicion of adultery, husband arrested in Dhaka

Crime Report: Rapid Action Battalion (RAB)-10 has arrested husband Sohail Miya (28) in connection with the recovery of the body of housewife Mehrun Nesha Meem (18) hanging from a house in the Kamrangichar area of the capital.

According to RAB, husband Sohail had killed his wife Mehroon Nesha Meem on suspicion that she was talking to another man.

Last Tuesday (August 15), the family members found Meem hanging and took her to the hospital, where the doctor declared her brought dead.

In this incident, Meem’s uncle, Kamal, registered a case of murder at Kamrangichar police station.

After this, RAB arrested him on Wednesday (August 16) night. In a press conference on Thursday (August 17), RAB said that Meem was married to Sohail three years ago.

He has a 2-year-old son. Both Sohail and Meem were working as laborers in a local pen factory. They often quarreled over the suspicion that Mim was in touch with another person’s mobile phone. As a result, Sohail would often beat Meem.

Distressed by Sohail’s harassment, Meem had earlier filed a case against Sohail in the Sherpur Court under a case under the Women and Child Abuse Prevention Act.
